Parkinson’s Disease and Related Disorders

Parkinson’s Disease is far more than just a disorder of movement and encompasses many potential symptoms. Restless Legs Syndrome / Periodic Limb Movement Syndrome
Restless Legs Syndrome is defined as an overwhelming desire to move your legs and often involves unbearable symptoms, typically of of burning, itching or crawling which prevent sleep and necessitate constant movement to obtain relief. This can cause great distress and the sequelae of chronic sleep deprivation.

Cognitive challenges / Memory difficulty

Medication Review
As people travel through their life journey, they can often accrue multiple medications which can begin to affect them adversely and have a net negative effect.
This can arise in a variety of ways from lowering blood pressure and increasing the
risk of falling to having a numbing effect on cognition or simply causing them to feel
unwell.
Dr Fackrell provides a pragmatic and holistic review to ensure that medications
taken are having a net positive effect on the individual, focussing on the pursuit of
quality of life and maximising health and wellbeing.
Pre-Operative Review
It is preferable that when an operation is planned that the individual concerned is
medically optimised so that they have the very best chance of operative success,
allowing them to fulfil their full post-operative potential.
This may entail a detailed review of their current state of health, with medication review to enable the planned operation to go as smoothly as possible. Holistic Review
